RISHIKESH
Set along the right bank of the river Ganga, at its confluence with the Chandrabhaga stream. Rishikesh is one of the best located pilgrimages along the Ganga and is known as the gateway to the Himalayas. Rishikesh is a centre of yoga and meditation. It is believed that meditation in Rishikesh brings one closer to attainment of Moksha, as does a dip in the holy river that flows through it. In the recent years, Rishikesh has also becoming a popular spot for while water rafting enthusiasts, as it offers medium to rough rapids in the course of river Ganges.
